The other day, i came across a beautiful quote by Bryant H. McGill. He quotes, 'Words are powerful. Words change lives. Words and ideas change the world'.

          
I completely agree. It is the exact reason why everyone should acquire public speaking skills. Say those powerful words out loud and make a difference.
          
We have seen throughout history how powerful speeches changed the world, the way people think and feel. In the new era where gadgets rule the universe, humans must learn how to speak up.
             
No matter who you are and what you do for a living, learning the skills of public speaking is going to benefit you. Here are the reasons why you should learn public speaking:

Boost up your confidence level and self-esteem. 


One needs courage to stand in front of people and speak. Being able to speak in front of people will make you see a different perspective of yourself. You will be better, braver and have more self confidence.

Boost up positive image. 


Need i say more? A person who can speak in public must have some self confidence to be able to do that. Thus, a person with high self confidence will surely portrays a positive image and great personality.

Improve communication skills. 


Seriously, we need this in the modern days. People have stopped talking to each other. Communication is the key to success. Public speaking helps the message to get through to others.

Improve leadership skills. 


A good leader must know how to lead and convey messages to their followers. A great leader should be able to communicate, inspire and motivate. In other words, a true leader must know how to speak up.

Great for career and career advancement. 


In the business world for example, you need to speak up. If you don't, you will not be able to promote your company, products and get customers. Public speaking skills help you to be more convincing. It enhances your career and leads to career advancement. An employee with good public speaking skills is pure gold for the employer.

Good for studies. 


Do start early. Start young. Students in schools and universities should master the skills of public speaking. There are many presentations to be done during their studies which require these skills. It will also give these students a better chance to get a job after graduation.

Actually there are many more reasons why you should learn public speaking. It is an effective way to influence, inspire, motivate and touches people's heart.

 Public speaking is not an impossible skill to obtain. it must not be a boring learning process. Learning the skills can be fun too. Public speaking is cool! The most important thing to remember is just to be yourself and follow your own style of speaking. Start learning the skills now.
