HOW TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF YOUR PRESENTATION

You have been doing presentations for a while now.


You are really getting the hang of it and you love what you do.


Yet, there is something missing.


You can’t quite figure it out.


You just don’t feel satisfied with your own presentations.


You don’t think your presentations were good enough.


You don’t think you made enough impact.


You want to be better at it.


Well, don’t feel bad. Take it positively.


We should always improve ourselves from time to time.


That’s how we can become great at whatever we do.


And by thinking about how to improve ourselves is actually a good way to start.


You are making an effort to find out what you can do to become a better presenter. Congratulations!


The question is; how to improve the quality of your presentation?

1)Be A Better Quality Speaker

In order to improve the quality of your presentation, you must first improve the performance of the speaker which is in this case; you.

A good quality speaker will always speak with substance. Do a lot of reading to be more knowledgeable in your field of expertise. Keep on learning no matter how good you are in your field.

Take opportunities to attend presentations by other speakers. Listen to them, observe and learn. Gain as much experience as you can. Watch these great presenters and speakers on stage and take in the good points.

If you can, take this chance to talk to these experienced speakers and asked them for some valuable advice. Be their friends and build connections. If you feel the need to learn other skills to improve yourself as a speaker, by all means just do it. The key here; never stop learning and get real experiences.

2) Provide Good Quality Content

Another factor that determines the quality of any presentation is of course, the content. What is the presentation all about? Is the content useful to others? Will the presentation make an impact on people’s life? Can the points you are making in your presentation change mind-set? Will the ideas convey in the presentation help others?

Find new, fresh and exciting ideas to talk about. Make sure the content of your presentation are interesting, stimulating and beneficial. Otherwise, it will be just an average presentation with minimum impact.

Spend some time to do research on the topics of your presentation and get information from reliable sources. By sharing points which are based on true facts, people will perceive you as a trustworthy and a genuine speaker thus build up a good reputation for yourself.

3) Give A Great Quality Delivery

So, you have taken initiative to learn and came up with great new ideas for your speech. Well done! However, it is not over yet. In order to improve the quality of your presentation, there is another thing you should improve on. Yes, it is your speech delivery.

What is the use of having great ideas if you can’t deliver the ideas well? You need to grab your audience attention to get through to them. You must give them a great quality of speech delivery. Then they will surely listen to you.

Be creative in your presentation. Use relevant props, attractive visual aids or add some fascinating stories. Make your presentation interesting, engaging and captivating. Make the audience pay full attention to you and what you are presenting. Be entertaining and educational at the same time!

4) Arrange Good Quality Presentation Session

Last but not least. If you wish to improve the quality of your presentation, you need to see other factors as well. You see, a good quality presentation does not only rely on the speaker. Here I am referring to presentations during a seminar or workshops. 

The whole arrangement of the presentation session must be smooth and well-manage in order to guarantee a good quality presentation.For example;

*Presentations must be on time and according to the schedule.

*Food and rest provided for the audience

*The audience should be allowed to ask questions, interact, and give feedback.

*The basic lighting and audio visual system must be manage effectively

I’ve said this once already but I am going to say it again. It is necessary to make proper planning of the whole session and this must not be taken for granted to achieve a good quality presentation.

For me, a good quality presentation must be able to reach the purpose of the presentation itself. A good quality presentation must have a certain value. It is not just a presentation. A good quality presentation will make the audience think, analyse, learn and maybe change. A good quality presentation will able to engage, attract and entertain your audience. A good quality presentation is memorable and unforgettable. And a good quality presentation usually happens when the speaker gives the very best to the audience.
